Why do we believe in CBD?

Why do we believe in CBD?

    The power of CBD

So, why do we believe in CBD so much here at Hide & Seek?

Well, apart from our founder, Harry, having seen its effects first-hand after noticing a dramatic improvement in his anxiety symptoms after just a couple of weeks of regularly taking CBD oil, there have been many stories in the media of CBD (Cannabidiol) being used by individuals to improve their medical symptoms.

Medical CBD, which is any cannabis-based medicine for relieving symptoms, is only available on prescription in the UK to a very few people usually prescribed by a specialist doctor. It has been used to help those suffering with epilepsy, multiple sclerosis or to mitigate the side-effects of chemotherapy

There is a famous case in the USA (which is a few years ahead of the UK in terms of its CBD market) of Charlotte Figi who was born with Dravet syndrome which meant she experienced up to 300 seizures a week. After taking CBD oil her seizures reduced to just a couple a month – wow! Charlotte was responsible for campaigning for CBD to be legalised in the States before she sadly died from Covid complications last year at just 13.

There have been UK cases too like Billy Caldwell from Castlederg, Northern Ireland

who famously had his epilepsy CBD medicine confiscated at Heathrow in 2018 and Alfie Dingley whose seizures are practically non-existent since taking medically licensed CBD.

The good news about CBD is that it is available to people who thankfully don’t have complex medical conditions via CBD oil, and other products like creams and gummies, as a food supplement, regulated by the British Food Standards Agency.

All CBD oil sold openly in the UK must have the Tetrahydrocannabinol extracted which is the element responsible for the illegal high found in cannabis. What’s left behind is the pure hemp extract which is usually mixed with another palatable oil like almond or coconut which you ingest up to twice a day via a drop under the tongue. Many people believe that CBD has therapeutic benefits for a variety of conditions from insomnia to anxiety to severe pain to epilepsy. It’s been reported that 6 million UK adults are said to have consumed a CBD product in the past year with over a third of them over 55 so word is spreading!

Research into the benefit of CBD is continuing. A World Health Organisation (WHO)  report indicated that CBD could offer relief into debilitating conditions like Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and cancer as well as anxiety, depression and general pain whilst also suggesting that CBD doesn’t cause harm or lead to dependency (great news!) - but more research is needed before any concrete claims can be made.

Here at Hide & Seek though we’re hopeful. From conversations and feedback, we’ve had with consumers who’ve bought our CBD oil we truly believe that nature is giving us a gift in hemp!

It’s our opinion that the hundreds of cannabinoids contained in CBD may work synergistically with our unique Endocannabinoid (ECS) systems. We’re all unique so will all respond in different ways to CBD oil and it’s only by trying it that you will see if it benefits your lifestyle and individual wellbeing requirements.

What we can guarantee you at Hide & Seek is Peace of Mind. With a growing industry, there are a few dubious operators with low standards out there. We guarantee that all our CBD comes from EU approved farms, our products are meticulously tested and you can trace your bottle back to the original hemp plant – guaranteeing a pure product with a minimum safe quantity of CBD with no nasties – through our batch testing facility.

We’re delighted that more and more adults are seeing if CBD could work for them. If you’re curious and would like to know more, you can buy here today or please get in touch if you have any specific questions - harry@hideandseekcbd.com
